On 27 March 2007, HM The Queen attended a national service in Westminster
Abbey marking the 200th Anniversary of the Abolition of Slavery
Act. Bill was commissioned by the Dean and Chapter to compose
a new anthem, which formed the musical centrepiece of the service.
The Prime Minister and other senior figures attended, and the
address was given by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The whole
service was broadcast live on BBC TV. |
